POINTS OF INTEREST Four Spanish frontier missions, part of a colonization system that stretched across the Spanish Southwest in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, are commemorated here. Mission Espada's irrigation system is preserved, which consists of a stone dam and aqueduct and about five miles of irrigation ditch.
